Meeting Update October 7, 2026 Pastor Search Team Meeting Update Devotion by Jerry Horn – Colossians 1:9–14; 2:10 This week, Jerry Horn led our devotion from Colossians 1:9–14, reminding us how important it is to rely on the Lord for wisdom and understanding as we continue our search for our next pastor. Jerry reminded us that the spiritual wisdom and understanding Paul talks about in verse 9 doesn’t come from our own knowledge or abilities. It comes from the Lord.
Meeting Update September 30, 2026 Pastor Search Team Meeting Update Doug Kendall shared our devotion from 1 Corinthians 10:1–11, reminding us that the experiences of Israel were recorded as examples for us. Even after seeing God’s faithfulness over and over, they still struggled at times with fear, complaining, and disobedience. He also shared from Numbers 20:7–12, when God told Moses to speak to the rock, but Moses struck it instead. It was a good reminder that God does not always
Meeting Update September 23, 2026 Pastor Search Team Meeting Update Acts 10:34-35; 11:19-21 In Acts 10:34–35, Peter says:“Now I truly understand that God doesn’t show favoritism, but in every nation the person who fears Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him.” Peter was learning something that God had been teaching him throughout this chapter: God’s plan was bigger than Peter’s expectations. Then in Acts 11:19–21, we see believers who had been scattered because of persecution going to
Meeting Update September 16, 2026 Pastor Search Team Meeting Update 1 John 5:13–15 First John was written by John, the last living apostle, and much of the book is about assurance. John wanted believers to know with confidence what is true. In verse 13, John says that those who believe in the name of the Son of God can know that they have eternal life. Then he gives us another assurance: “This is the confidence which we have before Him,

Meeting Update September 2, 2026 Pastor Search Team Meeting Update Ed Reed shared our devotion this week from Luke 23, looking at the two thieves on the cross with Jesus. Both men deserved the punishment they were receiving, and one even acknowledged, “we are receiving what we deserve.” But then he turned to Jesus. Jesus responded with those incredible words of hope: “Today you shall be with Me in Paradise.” In that moment, the words of Jesus changed everything for
Meeting Update August 26, 2026 Pastor Search Team Meeting Update Doug Kendall shared our devotion from Colossians 1:9–12, reminding us that so many people are praying for our Pastor Search Team and that this work must remain grounded in prayer. We cannot rely on the knowledge or wisdom of this world. As 1 Corinthians 1:27 reminds us, God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise. Our dependence must be on Him and on the spiritual
Meeting Update August 19, 2026 Pastor Search Team Meeting Update Jerry Horn opened our meeting with a devotion centered on Psalm 23:3, reminding us of the important picture of a shepherd. Just as the Lord is our Shepherd, a pastor is called to shepherd and care for the flock God has entrusted to him. The context of Isaiah 30 is that God’s people had relied on their own wisdom instead of seeking Him. When they repented and trusted Him, God promised to teach and direct
