Pastor Search Team Meeting Update
Our Pastor Search Team met this week and began our time together with a devotion reminding us of the importance of staying focused and guarding against the distractions that can come when we are seeking God’s will.
We were reminded from Acts 1:23–24 that when the disciples were faced with choosing someone for an important position of leadership, they prayed and trusted the Lord—the One who knows the hearts of all people—to reveal His choice. That is such a reassurance for us. God already knows the man He has prepared for our church. Our responsibility is to seek Him faithfully and prayerfully.
We also looked at the life of Moses. Moses had once tried to accomplish things in his own strength, but God took him into the wilderness, where he became a shepherd. Then, at the burning bush, God called Moses and reminded him that he would not accomplish the task in his own power—God would be with him.
That is a good reminder for our team as well. This task can sometimes feel overwhelming, but the outcome does not depend on our power—it depends on God’s. We want to remain humble, prayerful, and sensitive to His direction.
Please continue to pray for our team—that we would not become distracted or discouraged, that we would have wisdom and discernment, and above all, that we would recognize and follow God’s leading as He guides us to the shepherd He has prepared for our church.
We are continuing to receive and review candidates and resumes.
Thank you for continuing to pray with us and for us.
