Pastor Search Team Meeting Update
At our Wednesday evening Pastor Search Committee meeting, Matt Payne led us in a devotion centered on our complete dependence upon the Lord. He referenced both the contemporary worship song “Lord I Need You” and the timeless hymn “I Need Thee Every Hour,” reminding us that regardless of the season or generation, our greatest need is always Christ.
Matt challenged us to seek a clean heart before the Lord, reflecting on Psalm 51:10: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” He reminded us that the work before us cannot be accomplished in our own strength, but only through hearts that are surrendered and continually seeking God’s will.
During our meeting, we carefully reviewed the church’s bylaws related to the Senior Pastor. As we read through each section, we paused to discuss what each provision means for our search process, ensuring that our work remains aligned with both our governing documents and our commitment to conduct this search with integrity, transparency, and prayerful discernment.
The committee also spent time in prayer, asking God to continue giving us wisdom, discernment, unity, and humble hearts as we seek the man He has already prepared to serve as our next Senior Pastor.
Thank you for continuing to pray with us. Your faithful prayers remain an essential part of this journey. We are grateful for your partnership as, together, we seek God’s direction for our church.
