Pastor Search Team Meeting Update
Sunday Morning Update:
I wanted to take just a few minutes this morning to give you an update on where we are in the process of searching for our next Senior Pastor.
First, we want you to know how grateful we are for your prayers and encouragement. We feel the weight of the responsibility you have entrusted to us, and we do not take it lightly. Our team continues to meet weekly, pray together, and review resumes and recommendations as we seek the man God has already prepared to lead our church in this next season.
We have been blessed with a strong response and have considered a number of very qualified men. We are carefully and prayerfully working through that process. We are not simply looking for the best resume or the most impressive candidate. We are asking God to give us wisdom and discernment to recognize the man He has chosen for Collierville First Baptist Church.
At this point, we are beginning the process of narrowing our larger list of names and resumes to a shorter list of men that we believe the Lord would have us look at more closely and learn more about.
We also want to make our church family aware that the Search Team is not considering any of our current staff members for the Senior Pastor position. We are very thankful for our staff, for their faithful service, and especially for the leadership they are providing during this time of transition.
As we have said from the beginning, we do not want to get ahead of God, but we also do not want to lag behind where He is leading. God has been faithful to our church for many years, and we are confident that He is already at work in what comes next.
So, what can you do? Please continue to pray.
Pray for wisdom and unity for our Search Team. Pray for the man God is preparing and for his family. Pray that God will make His direction unmistakably clear. And pray for our church—that we will remain faithful, focused, and united as we wait on Him.
Thank you for your trust, your patience, and most of all, your prayers as we continue to seek and trust the Lord together.
