for National Leaders

"To get nations back on their feet, we must first get down on our knees."Billy Graham

Pray for our National Leaders

Pray that godly men and women will be placed in positions of authority so that God’s people can rejoice (Proverbs 29:2).

Help our president and government leaders to accept wise counsel (Proverbs 11:14; 15:22).

Pray that they would learn to trust God (Psalm 21:7).

Pray that they would be protected from the influence of the evil one (2 Thessalonians 3:3).

Give them discretion, foresight, and understanding in making decisions (1 Chronicles 22:12).

Ask that they would acknowledge their need for God and His wisdom and that they would turn to Him in prayer.

Pray that God would pour out His Spirit on his/her leadership (Proverbs 1:23).

Pray that God would deliver them from opinions contrary to His Word (Psalm 119:105).

Ask that God would protect them from harm, and bless and protect their families (Psalm 21:11; Ezra 6:10).

Ask that they will be able to carry out their duties with humility toward God and toward others (1 Peter 5:5).

Pray that God would bless them with strength, endurance, and stamina (1 Chronicles 16:11; Isaiah 40:31).

Pray that God would equip them to act according to His will and to make choices pleasing to Him (Hebrews 13:20–21).

Ask that God would give them the courage to do the right thing even when urged to do the wrong thing (Proverbs 2:11–15).

Ask that God would give them a tender heart of compassion toward those they lead and serve (Colossians 3:12).

Pray that God will raise up righteous leaders who will model integrity and authenticity (Ephesisans 4:1-2; Proverbs 14:34).

Pray they be presented with the gospel and a loving Christian witness (Romans 10:14).

Pray they recognize their own inadequacy and seek the will of God (Proverbs 3:5-8, Luke 11:9-13).

Pray they be convicted of sin, transgression and iniquity (Psalm 51:17, John 8:9).

Pray they read the Bible and attend prayer meetings and Bible studies (Psalms 119:11, Colossians 3:2).

Pray Americans will see their spiritual poverty; that our nation’s citizens will awaken to their great spiritual need (Joel 3:12).
