Kristy Dunaway

Kristy Dunaway, Director of Preschool

Birthday: July 14

Originally from: Dublin, California (San Francisco Bay Area)

Education background: A.A. from Las Positas College, Livermore, CA

Ministry background: Children's Director of Ridgeway Baptist Church, Memphis, TN, 2010-2014

I started working for CFBC: August 17, 2014

My family: Married to Kirk for 22 years! We have daughter, Eden, 16 years old and son, Major, 14 years old.

My role at CFBC: I do all things Preschool Ministry! This includes Sunday School for the preschoolers, worship time/extended care for preschoolers, Wednesday nights, special events, etc.

Personal story: I was saved when I was 29 years old when someone knocked on my front door and shared the gospel with me! God chased me down and He did not give up on me! The Christian life is a great adventure. Although, it is tough, I wouldn’t have it any other way.  God is faithful and full of grace and mercy!

Favorite book of the Bible: Romans

Recent books I’ve enjoyed: Just a Minute by Wes Stafford, President and CEO of Compassion International. This book reminds us of the difference that we can make in the life of a child. Each encounter with a child is an opportunity from God to encourage and love a child! The Red Sea Rules by Robert Morgan.

Most fulfilling part of my job: Being around children -  they are like sunshine, bright and full of life! Working with adults who are excited about sharing the love of Jesus with the children and their families. Seeing families grow spiritually.

Places of service available in my ministry: Preschool Sunday School Teacher, one time per month volunteers during worship service, special event volunteers and more!

Spiritual gifts: Prophecy, exhortation and evangelism

I hope heaven includes: Sparkling water and running trails

The smartest thing I’ve ever done: Moved to Tennessee with my husband

The best way to pray for me: Pray that I will abide in Christ and bear fruit.  Pray that God would give me wisdom to lead the Preschool Ministry. Pray that I will walk by faith and not by sight.
