Originally from: Ringgold, Georgia (Chattanooga, Tennessee Area)

Education background: Bachelor of Human Relations from Samford University, Birmingham, AL

Ministry background: Minister of Youth and Recreation at Bayside Baptist Church, Harrison, TN, 1990-95 • Student Minister at Eastmont Baptist Church, Montgomery, AL, 1995-2005

I started working for CFBC: February 6, 2005

My family: My wife Amy, and children: Camden (20), Caurie (18) and Colby (10)

My role at CFBC: I plan and coordinate recreational sports and activities for the church.  This includes soccer, volleyball, basketball, aerobics, baseball, softball, golf events and family outings.  I also direct our ministry to college students.

Personal story: At age eight, I went through the motions of accepting Christ but did not become the “new creation” God said in Corinthians we are to become.  Throughout high school I made some bad choices and lived for myself.  I tried to play games with God, but did so unsuccessfully.  Finally, the summer after my high school graduation, I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior.  Through my work as a student ministry intern, God called me to work with students, keeping them from playing games with God.  No one should miss out on what God wants to give them!

Favorite book of the Bible: Philippians

Recent books I’ve enjoyed: Not a Fan by Kyle Idleman, Follow Me by David Platt and Creature of the Word by Chandler, Patterson and Geiger

Most fulfilling part of my job: Seeing the "light come on" in college students and them understanding the life changing power of Christ in their lives.

Places of service available in my ministry: We are always in need of volunteers to coach children’s sports.  We also need referees, scorekeepers, set-up and breakdown crews.  There are also ongoing activities to participate in.

Spiritual gifts: Teaching, preaching and service

My hobbies: Jogging, golf, cycling and watching my kids play sports

I hope heaven includes: Football, baseball and white sandy beaches

Passport stamps: Thailand, Turkey, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Philippines and Guatemala

The best way to pray for me: Pray that I will be a godly example for my family and our church • Pray that I will never take my eyes off the Lord and will set the standard high as I follow Christ
