I started working for CFBC: March 21, 1999
My family: My wife Melinda and my children Zachary, Kelsey and her husband Dane, and Jeremiah and his wife Darlene and grandchildren - Olivia, Malachi, Zoe, and Georgia Kate
My role at CFBC: I serve as your Executive Pastor and work with our pastor, staff, and members in carrying the Great Commission.
Personal story: Having been raised in a Christian home, I became aware of my sin by God’s call and I repented and believed that God sent His Son Jesus to live a perfect life, die on the cross, and was resurrected to restore my relationship with God. As an adult, I worked in the business world for fifteen years and then felt God’s call again, and it was to enter into the ministry. It was a huge adjustment, but God has been my family’s strength.
Favorite book of the Bible: Colossians - I am teaching in it now and it so important in understanding who Christ is
Recent books I’ve enjoyed: Pursuing Holiness, The Practice of Godliness, Respectable Sins, The Fruitful Life, True Community, and Growing Your Faith all by Jerry Bridges. I read Pursuing Holiness four times and I need to read it four more times.
Most fulfilling part of my job: Watching God draw people from all over the world to Him
Places of service available in my ministry: You can pray for our strategic partners, you can pray for our teams as they go to share the gospel, you can pray that God would be glorified as we take the Gospel to such places as Toronto or India; you can go on a mission trip through our church; you can give to feed the hungry or share the gospel through our World Missions Offering.
Spiritual gifts: Anytime I demonstrate love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, or self-control. It is a spiritual gift
My hobbies: Fishing, reading & Sudoku
I hope heaven includes: Cool fall mornings, Appalachian Mountains with beautiful fall colors and people whom I have shared the gospel with
The smartest thing I’ve ever done: Asking my boss out on a date—she later became my wife (and she’s still the boss today)!
The best way to pray for me: To have wisdom in leading our church to pray for missions, to give to missions, and to go on mission. Pray that I would depend on God and not on my own strength.
